Prof.Dr. Necdet ŞENSOY


International Standart Setting Organizations for Islamic Finance Industry

Born in Gerze -Sinop in 1954. His secondary school education with preparatory class for ResimEnglish Language was at Samsun college until 1972.

Mr. Şensoy graduated from the Istanbul Academy of Economics and Commerce in 1977. He received his M.A. degree from the Institute of Accounting at the same Academy, and his Ph.D. degree from Marmara University. He became Associate Professor in 1994 and Professor in 2002.

Having worked as a lecturer at Marmara University-Istanbul, Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences, Department of BusinessAdministration, Prof. Dr. Necdet Şensoy was appointed as a Member of the Auditing Committee of the Central Bank of Turkey on 1st May 2004.

His academic field is accounting and finance.

 He was Member of the Auditing Committee and as well as Deputy Rector of the Istanbul Commerce University before becoming Member of the Board on 7th December 2006.

Prof. Şensoy lectured on "Accounting for Islamic Banks" and "Zakat Accounting" in the Department of Accounting, Kulliyyah of Economics and Management, at International Islamic University Malaysia between July 1994 and July 1996. He has publication about "Cost of Depositors' Funds and Pricing for Islamic Banks" (1996). Prof. Şensoy is a former member of Board of Trustees of Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions between 1993 and 1997. Prof. Şensoy is currently the Chairman of Audit Committee of International Islamic Liquidity Management Corporation.
